IES Foundation Year programs guarantee entry into undergraduate programs at The University of Queensland to those international students who meet the specific standards for their chosen program (quotas apply in some programs).
Three programs are available: Standard, Express and Extended. Program placement is determined after consideration of a student’s academic background, English proficiency and desired undergraduate program as well as any other additional needs a student may have.
Each program offers both first and second semester start dates with entry into university the semester directly after graduation. Students should be aware some undergraduate programs offer semester one starts only and should plan their foundation studies accordingly.
Students receive the same high level of tuition across all three programs. Subjects comprise of regular formal class time as well as more casual tutorial sessions, replicating the teaching style at university. Students who are Australian citizens or who hold current Australian Permanent Residency status are not able to be admitted to the program.
