PIER offers a variety of professional development courses for education agencies, individual counsellors and other education industry professionals. The courses are delivered both solely by PIER and in collaboration with international bodies, including ICEF.
Education agent training courses are free and online, providing agents and industry professionals with a comprehensive overview of the education industry. Each course provides information specific to a certain country, such as the country’s history, visa laws, and the requirements placed onto agents. Courses are self-paced and carry industry recommendation.
The courses are beneficial for both new and experienced agent counsellors; they are often used as a resource to help agents and other education industry professionals to remain up-to-date with changes and developments in international education. The course details the latest changes and developments in international education and has been proudly developed in partnership with the Australian Federal Government and peak bodies.
Education agents can advance their qualifications and industry connections further by becoming qualified. Becoming a qualified counsellor demonstrates your professionalism to prospective students, their parents and educational institutions. Many Australian education institutions require their agents to have the QEAC qualification before considering engaging their services.
Qualifed education agents are listed in the PIER Network and on the QEA app. The PIER Network is a global online network of professionals in international education. A listing in the PIER Network is promoted through a connected group of sites, databases and government agencies that are viewed by students and educational institutions thousands of times a month. The QEA app is a mobile version of the network and lists QEACs geographically, so students can easily find you and institution representatives can make new agents connections as soon as they land in a new city.
